Camper Style: 1992 Toyota Pickup

This next car comes from tipper TeleArrow who writes: Looks to be in surprisingly good shape for a Northeast Vehicle. Price might be a little high given the mileage. 22re should last. Find this 1992 Toyota Pickup offered for $7500 in Kittery, MN ME via craigslist.

1992 Toyota 22re 4wd DLX Pick Up – 5 Speed Manual with Camper Shell – 208,315 miles
This truck is in perfect running condition, literally better than new mechanically speaking. With upgrades made with headers and the exhaust this truck is quick not fast but will easily get to 80mph on the highway and cruise there all day long (it will do 100mph) and it sounds great, not loud but a little throaty and does not drone. It handles very well I’ve upgraded to the LCE heavy duty rear leaf springs and Bilstein shocks along with the new tire(Yokohama Geo’s and wheel(fifteen52 Anaolgs) set. Everything works as it should, the dash lights are new and so is the dome light, the A/C can get the cab down below 50 on a very hot summer day and the heat works perfectly. No squeaks or rattles to speak of and no leaks. There are a ton of upgrades and all are listed below, if the links provided do not work just copy and paste so you can research these parts/upgrades. The 5 speaker Stereo with Sub sounds incredible too. This truck is a hoot to drive and great as a daily driver or a weekender, it’s super reliable. I don’t really want to part with it but I have a 3rd Gen 4Runner I’m working on and just don’t have the room for both. The body does have have some dents and dings along with a little rust near the exhaust and a spot at the bottom of the passenger door, everything else is tip top on this little beauty, really!

*Please note due to the age of this truck there is no title but you can do a title search and request one from the state of Maine if you wish. I simply haven’t had the time to go through this process. The truck is currently registered in the State of Maine with current tags and State Inspection. It is legal and not necessary to have a title for a car/truck manufactured on or before 1995 in the State of Maine and be used on any and all roads legally since the vehicle is legally registered with assigned ownership. The previous owners did not have a title for this truck, I do have a clear ownership chain through the state registrations of New Hampshire and Maine. At time of purchase I will provide you with a bill of sale and transfer of ownership.

I have a 93 Toyo p/u 2 wheel drive with 230K on the clock so this one is not that high a miles lot’s of work done. My Truck sprung a leak from the high pressure PS line Toyota’s price is $900 for the part and is not in stock. So waiting for Amazon to show up Monday with my $34 dollar replacement part hope it last’s another 28 year’s.Like the stock Yokohama did.
Damn!
You got me all excited thinking this was in MN (Minnesota) but it’s in Maine!
A friend at work has one of these. Was given a new chassis by Toyota due to rust. 200k+ on the clock and other than consumables (wheel bearings, exhaust, alternator etc) seems to be indestructible, with a queue of people in line to buy it, if it ever comes up for sale.
Ha, I noticed that too, ME is Maine. The M states do get a little confusing with the abbreviations.
That’s my bad. Been a busy week for me. Not a lot of spare brain capacity to remember the difference betwix MN, ME, MT…sorry!
I was thinking the price was a little steep until I read the ad. Looks like a really nice truck that won’t call attention to itself and is probably a bargain. Certainly a testament to the wisdom of spending other people’s time and money at a discount by buying their old projects.
A little more electronics frippery than I would indulge in but still pretty nice.
Kudos to the seller for investing their money into upgrades that inarguably produce a better vehicle. My wife loves her ’03 B2300 but I’d get this for her in a heartbeat if she wasn’t so attached to her “Mazda”.
Ah yes the Nom Ranger if you’ll pardon my French.
