A Nissan Z In Disguise: 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe
Modern (post 2000 model year) cars are fast, complicated, and comfortable. Some are still too expensive, but others have depreciated into serious DT territory because of the immutable laws of supply (the OEM sold a ton when new) and demand (the newer versions are cooler/better/nicer smelling)…which have oddly favored the Infiniti version of the Nissan 350Z, which was known as the G35 coupe, at least until Infiniti renamed their entire lineup to be Q70, Q42, QGeewhiz Batman, I can’t decipher this bloody nomenclature. Anyway, this next car comes from the time when you could tell what kind of Infiniti you were getting. Find this 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe offered for $5,500 in Placentia, CA via craigslist.

I am selling my CLEAN TITLE 2005 INFINITI G35 Coupe with 6-speed manual transmission, Pearl white with tan leather. I am the second owner, it has 162,000 miles on it, 45% tread on the tires. The wheels are oem staggered 19″ alloy. 2 new catalytic converters replaced last year, new radiator, new air intake. The vehicle is pretty much stock, it drives great and has many miles left. I’m selling to get a larger car. Exterior is in good condition, a few small scratches, driver seat has two tears. All electronics work, heated seats, power mirrors with auto dimming, home link in mirror. Serious buyers only, negotiations in person only. I am listing it at $5,500 obo.

This seems like and excellent candidate for a cheap(ish) weekend toy, or daily fun beater. Buy it, run it for a couple of years, and sell it without taking too huge of a loss. Probably approaching the bottom of its depreciation curve.
Might be time for a clutch on this rascal 162,000 miles and upgrade the master/clutch cylinders. Would be a fun car for not much money.
