A French Project: 1992 Peugeot 405 Mi16

Our next feature is a Peugeot 405 Mi16, the hot version of Peugeot’s handsome Pininfarina-styled family sedan—and one of the last Peugeots officially sold in the United States. Mi16’s centerpiece is the 1.9-liter XU9J4 DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder, rated at 150 hp in U.S. trim, paired with a 5-speed manual and front-wheel drive. Today’s example has some issues (many issues, not insignificant ones), but the asking price is low. Find this 1992 Peugeot 405 Mi16 offered for $2000 in Cincinnati, OH via facecrash mibook.

Want gone ASAP.
I want to be upfront with any prospective buyer on this car, it being such a rare car. I bought this car on a whim from a friend who is moving out of state, and honestly, it’s not for me. I dont have the knowledge to make this car what it deserves to be.
The good
-There is zero rust. Anywhere. You can see for yourself. The paint is in almost perfect shape.
-The car does run and “drive”
The bad
-The car does not run well. It will not accelerate past 2500RPM. On a couple occasions I’ve seemed to fix the issue but it always seems to come back. I am pretty confident it is the AFM/MAF sensor, or a crank position sensor
-The car does not stop well. I believe the brakes need bled. Either that or the internal diaphragm on the brake master is dead.
-The car was involved in a fender bender in my friend’s ownership, which broke the headlight/corner light. I have new ones but they will need to be modified to fit.
