5k: Sky Blue, Earthly Priced: 1973 Porsche 914 1.7l
The Porsche 914 is one of our favorite large go-karts to drive around on the street. Even in the base 1.7 liter trim it is a fun car that comes wrapped in a brown bag price. As a rule at DT we try and post only cars that are great deals, but today’s first feature looks to be an exceptional bargain. Find this 1973 Porsche 914 1.7 for sale in Antioch, CA for $4,000 via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy.
The 1.7 liter flat four only puts out 80 horsepower and is arguably the least desirable of all 914s (the 914-6, 914 2.0 and 914 1.8 all make more power), but super clean examples being sold by an owner of 40 years with low miles on the chassis don’t come around often. Unfortunately the seller only includes one photo and just enough details to make us want more info…

As a 914 owner, even with a trans rebuild, this is a very good deal.
Maybe I'm picky, but I like more than one picture and a few sentences before even inquiring about a car. Does the seller want to explain hellhole rust/tire age/recent maintenance to a dozen people on the phone? Isn't it quicker to put it in the ad?
Oh and 914s are a great source of temptation for me. Good ones can be found easily at thesamba.com. Like this: thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1505688
