The 3rd generation Ford Galaxie was a full-sized sedan introducing in 1965 with all new styling. Visually recognizable by the groovy stacked headlights that were cascaded down to smaller Fords, the Galaxie sold well until the next facelift. The Galaxie wagon was badged as the Country Squire or Country Sedan depending on if it was covered in fake wood –either way it makes a great big family hauler/weekend cruiser. Find this 1967 Ford Galaxie Country Squire Wagon offered for $4,000 in Tiverton, RI via craigslist. Seller submission from Art.
This giant beast has had its original wood sides removed sometime in the 70s and it was resprayed in the awesome Evel Knievel paint scheme you see here. The paint job makes me want to don my cape & crash helmet and go look for some big ramps…
Under the hood is a 390 FE “Thunderbird” V8 would have been good for 266 horsepower and 401 ft-lbs of torque. The engine bay looks pretty grimy, but the seller states that the braking system has recently been thoroughly gone — this is good because if you are going to do any Evel Knievel stunts you are gonna want functioning brakes.
