5k: Newer, Funner, More Reliable: 1968 BMW 1600 w/ Upgraded Inline-4

If posting one BMW New Class is good, then two is better…right?  Today’s Tii example requires some elbow grease before you can sell it to some rich dude for 30 large, but what if you hate to deal with bad paint?  Pick up this 1968 BMW 1600 with M10 power and 5-speed for sale in Dublin, CA for $6,200.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

The Sahara beige paint is claimed original from the seller(with the exception of a small spot repair in the rear) and it looks quite nice in the night time photos.  At least these photos are properly exposed, but we’d prefer photos taken during daylight hours, the light at dusk does strange things sometimes.

The 4-banger under the hood is a M05 (the seller calls it the M10, but then says it’s a 2.0 liter from a 2002, which should be a M05 according to our research).  The M05 is good for 100 horsepower stock, but with the headers, pistons and few other goodies attached it should put out around 130 horsepower – and mated to a Getrag 5-speed gearbox it should equal the performance of the famed Tii edition.
