5k: Ford-Front-Ended Woody Beach Bopper: 1973 VW Super Beetle Custom
The Volkswagen Beetle seems to be converted into all kinds of crazy stuff and every time we turn around someone has created something a bit more odd than the last one. This one is really hard to describe in words, so we are just going to let the pictures do the talking. Find this 1973 VW Super Beetle Custom with Ford front-end, Woody Beach Bopper for sale in Jacksonville, FL currently bidding for $1,626 reserve-not-met with buy-it-now of $4,200 via ebay with 1 day to go.
In the seller’s own words: “Solid “Unique” needing tweeking.” At least now we know where the money will go after the auction. Oh…you say he is talking about the car…it needs tweeking…right.
The original Super Beetle body can be seen hidden in the pantry and powering this mobile termite buffet is a presumably stock 60 horsepower 1.6 liter flat-4.
Captain Obvious continues his fine description…
“Water proof is only needed if you have to be out on rainy days.”
“Or plexiglass?”
The question mark is his, not ours.

Perry here. Does anybody see a goofy-looking smiley face when looking at the back of this car? Or am I tweeking?
You are experiencing pareidolia, the perception of order and significance in random stimuli. Humans are incredibly sensitively wired to see faces. Do you see the bunny under the air filter?

Thanks for that, Kai. Fingered the link and had to leave after 17 seconds. Otherwise my martini would've lost its chill.
here's a great collection of car faces – only a few of them look like human faces, and those sure jump out at you
Awesome link, thanks for that. The wide angle / closeup shots really accentuate the "faceyness" of the car faces. Makes them look rounder I think, and more human. That's a word now, btw. Faceyness.
The Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite is still one of my all-time favorites.
This guy couldn't even get the tail lights evenly set in the wood…almost like he free handed the cut outs. Same for where the bumper pylons come out…both cut outs are shaped differently. CP all day long
