5k Flash: Rotary-Sunny: 1982 Datsun B210 w/ Mazda Rotary 12A Swap
The Nissan Sunny was badged as the Datsun B210 in the US market and was a combination of bland Japanese econobox styling and fuel sipping inline 4 cylinder engines. The boxy big bumpered styling has aged into something cool especially when kept in good shape and the power can be fixed with the addition of a more sporting engine. Find this 1982 Datsun B210 with Mazda 12A rotary engine for sale in Deltona, FL for $4,500 via craigslist.
This Datsun 210 is equipped with a decent looking paint job, a perfect interior and a 5spd transmission mated to its Mazda wankel engine. This car ranks high in the “someone else’s time and money” category and its asking price is very reasonable.
The Mazda 12A rotary is a 1.1 liter twin-rotor engine that puts out somewhere between 100 and 130 horsepower depending on intake porting and all sorts of other unholy Wankel related tuning parameters…but it is both rear drive and manual transmission-ed, so we will forgive the spinning, farting demon under the hood.
This isn’t a bad way to spend less than $5k and get into a sweet vintage piece of Japanese iron with a screaming rotary powerplant.

The staggered wheel/tire combo is trying too hard. Tone it down a bit to better suit the rest of the car. Also, why no pics of the "mint" interior? At a sub-$5K investment, it seems like a pretty cool toy.
Not a bad price for the amount of work. Don't know if I could take the buzzsaw rotary concert all day long…but it should be light on it's feet.
