5k: 1986 Mercedes 190E 2.3-16V Cosworth Back on Ebay

We did a full write-up on the Mercedes-Benz 190 2.3-16V Cosworth earlier this week and the auction ended at a smoking deal of $5,200 — unfortunately the buyer turned out to be a some kind of ebay spam-bot or someone who wouldn’t know a good deal if it slapped him in the face.  Regardless, your chance to own a rare Merc is back and the 2.3-16V is up on ebay here, currently bidding at $3,450 no-reserve.

As a surprise bonus it turns out that this car is owned by a US contributor for a UK based Mercedes enthusiast magazine who also has written about this car in the blog Totally That Stupid.  You can find a number of blog entries on this exact car and we think it adds some welcome background information to a purchase and now its like you are buying a car from a neighbor that you’ve seen over the years instead of some random dude who may be trying to offload his ticking time bomb.  Buying from an enthusiast is always more desirable than someone who just runs cars into the ground or a car flipper and we certainly don’t hear any ticking when we read through the blog posts. We hope the new owner of this car will enjoy it and maybe send us a few pics.
