55k Miles? 1997 Ford Aspire
The Ford Aspire was a forgettable econohatch that was called the Festiva in various regions and used Mazda engines in its Kia built platform…but TLDR it’s an economy car build by various global automakers to meet the minimum requirements of transportation for a low price, but that’s not the important, what is important is that this next one has only 55k miles on the odometer AND it is has a manual gearbox. If I had a 16 year old kid, this would be his/her first car and I would not lose a minute of sleep over the decision. Find this 1997 Ford Aspire offered for $2500 in Rio Rancho, NM via craigslist.

I was able to get my newly (this week) licensed 16 yr old a 2000 Corolla with 80k in beautiful Grandma Gold for $2600, granted it’s a slushbox.
But it has a radio, and she likes that.
