5-Speed Hatchback: 1989 Honda Accord

The third generation Honda Accord hatchback is was built from 1985 through 1989 and it features a few things that lesser cars didn’t have including…double wishbone front and rear suspension, and pop-up headlights. Most of these Accords have been driven into the ground by fun seeking high school students, but today we’ve got a survivor that even has a manual gearbox. Find this 1989 Honda Accord Hatchback offered for $2800 in Torrington, CT via craigslist.

I love this; stick shift, flip up headlights, classic Honda goodness. All for $2,800!
Yep, it’s a legit unicorn. My only caveat is the sea of vacuum hoses on this presumably carbureted Honda.
Also, wasn’t ’88 the last year of this generation?
Off the top of my head, not sure. Maybe 89. I do know my folks had a 90 Accord EX Coupe that was the shit in its day. Last I heard, as of maybe 5 years ago, it was still running around Lafayette, LA after being passed through the hands of several extended family members. Long may she run.
