2k: Do It For The Children: 1975 BMW 2002
This next feature reads like a script from a Sally Struthers commercial for the Christian Children’s Fund charity. Sad music plays in the background while it stares at you forlornly, with its puppy dog eyes. It is a pre-smog BMW 2002 located in the SF Bay Area for less than $1,750, and unlike the interest I’m earning on those nickles from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society envelopes (few more years and they are gonna buy me a Diet Mtn Dew Code Red…drat…why’d they stop making that stuff…how about a Diet Coke) this one won’t last. Find this 1975 BMW 2002 offered for $1750 in San Francisco, CA via craigslist.

I associate that look–chain link fence, miscellaneous vines and weeds, elevated highway probably in the background–with the East Bay more than SF, not that it matters. When I lived in Oakland, I parked my ratty VW overnight in an area like that. The police stickered it for removal, assuming it was immobile like the wreck it was parked next to. That orange sticker was hard to remove…
