2k: Blank Canvas: 1985 Volvo 745 Wagon Ford 302 V8
With the launch of DailyTurismo’s new look we want to get back to basics and feature the kind of car that first started attracting our fanatical fan base. Something Swedish, cheap, rear drive, V8 powered, rowdy and maybe a chalkboard hood + prancing moose emblem… Find this 1985 Volvo 740 Wagon with Ford 302 V8 for sale in Columbia, SC for $2300 via Craigslist.
The Volvo 740 was originally powered by a simple but bulletproof inline-4 cylinder engine. This example has had it’s fuel efficient four banger pulled like a rotting tooth and razor sharp vampire fang implants added in the form of a Ford 302 cubic inch (5.0 liter) V8 mated to an automatic transmission. A “stainless steel” paint job, chalkboard black hood and prancing moose emblem shouts to the world “burnout machine!”
Apparently this Volvo parks near where a number of anarchist, peacenik, kitty loving, satanist, chalk artists live. Probably near a bridge or dark alley. Under this chalkboard canvas is a Ford 302 V8, with undisclosed providence and could make anywhere from 150 to 300 horsepower.
The personalized euro plate says it all “5–OH*SHIT” and ironic statement given how much attention this menace will get from your local 5-0. The side exit exhaust that dumps in front of a rear wheel is described as “pretty loud” and would probably need some adjustment before this thing qualifies as a sleeper. No matter, as at its current price it qualifies as a Daily Turismo and to quote the seller: “This car is a huge head turner,
people go nuts for it.”

I've dreamed of painting an entire car with chalkboard paint and then adding chalk-tray running boards to keep chalk around so that random people could leave a message. It would be great until you parked near a bar on a friday night.
~ a couple shots with the hood raised would be helpful. description makes it sound very poorly sorted.
There is a chalkboard car in my neighborhood, an old Escort wagon. It's a daily struggle for him to keep the dicks off
I used to own this car. 2300 wasn't a bad price, whoever ended up with it. I put the exhaust on it. Wasn't all that fast, but it was neat to bust BMW's with it since it still had the Turbo Diesel badges on it.
