15k: W111 Coupe: 1963 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Coupe

Driving a Mercedes-Benz W111 is a pleasure that few will ever experience, not just because a limited quantity were built or remain, but also because prices have edged into serious collector levels.  The cabriolet version is not affordable even in rusted hulk shape, but the coupes show up from time-to-time at reasonable prices and today’s feature is a driver for a fair price.  Find this 1963 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Coupe for sale in SF Bay Area, CA for $13,500 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

The W111 Heckflosse sedan was known for its vestigial fin-tails, but the coupe version had only small lumps to remind it of the ’50s.  This isn’t a bad thing as the coupe is a stunning car that would look equally at home in a museum, on poster in a bedroom wall or just sitting in your garage.

We’ve featured a number of W108 and W111 sedans because they offer vintage styling, usability and class for low bucks, but the coupe offers 2-door styling and collectability unmatched by the 4-door brethren.   This one isn’t a museum quality piece, but it is a good running driver for used Fiesta money.
