15k: Driver Quality: 1964 Chevrolet Impala
The 3rd generation Chevrolet Impala was built in Arlington Texas for the 1961 to 1964 model years on the GM B platform shared with the Bel Air and Biscayne. The Impala was a great way to get into a full sized sedan and was described by Ed Cole as a “prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen.” Find this 1964 Chevrolet Impala for sale in Sherman, TX currently bidding for $7,100 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go.
This Impala is offered from a dealer with nice photos, which normally would price it out of DT’s desired “good deal” requirement…but the seller includes a $12,999 price listed in the ebay ad, which wouldn’t be a bad price for this mean hunk of steel as it sits today.
Under the hood is a non matching number 400 cubic inch small block V8 pumping who knows how many horsepower and mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.
The inside doesn’t look horrible, but the photos are taken with great lighting by the seller and described as driver quality by seller.

this will be dragging the ground shortly…..
Sad but true…
does the fact it's a 4-speed raise the odds it will be left as-is? any clue whether those-who-bag tend to prefer automatics? that would be my wild guess, but with zero knowledge to base it on
I think you are right, but a powerglide is cheap and easy to install.
