10k: Wash Me: 1990 BMW E30 M3
The E30 M3 is one of those cars that has recently made the jump to collector status, and basic running/drive examples in good shape trade in the $30k range. While you might not really want an example that has been sitting in a garage and covered in dust, you are gonna think twice about this one once you see the asking price. Find this 1990 BMW E30 M3 offered for $12,000 or-best-offer in SF Bay Area, CA via craigslist.
This is the kind of “barn find” that you actually want to see, it might be covered in a coat of dust but the seller says it runs/drives great and it hasn’t been rotting behind a shed and isn’t covered in guano. It might need some reconditioning, but it probably needs a good bath, fluid change, some electric/mechanical sorting and you’ve got yourself high teens, low twenties worth of M3.
The S14 is a cool engine, it isn’t as powerfull as later M3 engines, but you can expect its 2.3 liter dual-over-head-cam S14
inline-4 (essentially an S38 inline-6 with 2 cylinders lopped off) to puts out 192 horsepower in catalyst equipped US spec.

Would have been the deal of the century if not for the salvage title. The price still gets you into one of the greatest sports cars for a 1/3 of the price. I have owned one and can say it was the my favorite car ever.
Is it normal for black E30 M3's to have white strut towers?
Good eye — looks like this car was resprayed in the non-original color.
First thing I noticed.
Seller should be arrested for elder abuse.
