10k: Repeat Offender: 1987 Porsche 911 LS1 Swap
We featured another 911-V8 from this seller back in February of this year, a 1978 SC Coupe. Oddly enough, the seller also equipped that one with a huge and hideous unpainted fiberglass whale-tail. Find this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera with Chevy LS1 V8 swap for sale in Texas City, TX currently bidding on ebay for $10,600 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go.
The seller, toyjet2000 seems to have a history of added V8 power to classic 911s and then selling them on ebay. He puts the radiator in a huge whale-tail, but for some reason never takes it to a paint shop for finishing and then end result looks a bit…well…unfinished.
Complain all you want about the cosmetics, but you won’t complain about the 400 horsepower V8 sitting behind the rear wheels as it doubles the stock horsepower with minimal additional weight and is reliable and cheap to maintain.
The seller also claims to have done the first LS1 conversion in a Porsche and daily drives another one, so he is either insane or the real-deal…or both. We’d drive this thing just about anywhere…but first…to a local paint shop to get the white elephant in the room painted.

Satisfies both the Porsche haters and the big block grease monkeys….besides the hideous appendage.whats not to like?
I'm not doubting the quality of the build at all, but his claim of being the world's first to do an LS1 conversion is a bit questionable. In the Q&A section he indicates that he did his first in 1999. Renegade Hybrids has been doing these Porsche LSx V8 conversions since 1983 and is widely considered to be the recognized experts in this area.
Looking back I need to clarify my first comment. Renegade Hybrids has been doing Chevy small block V8 conversions since 1983, moving up to the LT (1992) and LS (1997) when they became available.
