10k: Jagvette: 1980 Jaguar XJS LT1 V8 6-spd

The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer from those crazy blokes in Coventry and was built from 1975 to 1996.  The big cat is equipped with an inline-6 or V12 that requires routine upkeep from a Jaguar specialist, so engines frequently get swapped.  This one looks nicely modified and has a Chevy LT1 V8 mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.  Find this 1980 Jaguar XJS LT1 V8 6-spd currently bidding for $5,975 via ebay, located in Crestwood, KY with 3 days to go.

This XJS was restored back in 2002 when LS1 engines were not falling off the back of trucks into everything that moved — and the LT1 engine was the V8 of choice for knuckheads who couldn’t figure out how to fix their British electronics.  The body kit on this one makes it look like a touring car and fits with the wheels and lowered ride height.

The LT1 and mated 6-speed under the hood was probably stolen from a C4 generation Corvette and puts 285 genuine ‘Merican horsepower into the rear wheels.  It should make for an excellent cruiser with the tall gears from the 6spd.

The interior sports a set of Sparco racing seats, 5-pt harness and a NASCAR style ProComp gauge setup.  If you don’t like a motorsports feel, this car isn’t going to be a good fit.
