What’s This Pedal? 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham
In 1993 the Cadillac Fleetwood name was somewhat returned to its former glory when it was pulled off the front-drive C-body platform and plopped onto the rear-drive D-body shared with Buick Roadmaster, Chevy Caprice/Impala SS, and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. For the post part, the Fleetwood is a certified grandpa machine, but occasionally you’ll find a grandpa with a death wish. Like this 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham offered fro $8,000 in Oklahoma City, OK via craigslist.
It might not look like much from the outside — vinyl top, gold/silver two-tone paint, plus sized wheels…but under the skin this is indeed a modified machine. And not just a hopped up engine, this is the complete package with tubular control arms and a fancy positrac rear end.
Under the hood is a 383 cubic inch version of the LT1 V8 that has been modified to produce 425 horsepower and probably a similar amount of torque. This is going to be a fun.
The big pushrod brute is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox for your driving pleasure — and with a nicely preserved interior it should make for a comfortable cruiser to boot.

Whaaaat!?!?!? That is awesome
Riding Dirty Grandpa!
Needs more wheelie bars!
This thing is the q-ship aficionado's wet dream! What an awesome concept! I require this beast immediately.
+1! Would be even better with some stealthier wheels
oh my lord this is crazy! I love it!
A CTS-V is a bit small for me but this rascal would have the room and the vroom!
I wonder if you could easily swap in a bench seat in the front for 6 passenger comfort?
I bet that it originally had a bench in the front; who ever heard of a luxury car with front buckets, and no center console?
Another 6 speed CONOE
This is so tempting
6 speed 740iL
I love that it's five different shades of hearing aide.
Way cool car!!!
I had this exact same gold '93 Caddy, but totally stock. I loved that car. I love this better. I'll bet it can do a huge smokey burnout. If the handling is even a little better than stock, this car would be an amazing driver. I wish it was closer…
