Velga Camino: 1973 Chevrolet Vega

Our next feature started out as a 1975 Chevrolet Vega, one of GM’s compact H-body cars, but it has been converted into a tiny pickup/ute. Think Vega meets El Camino, then somebody added side pipes and stopped caring what the brochure said. This thing meets all of the requirements for a front-page DT feature. Rack-and-pinion steering is worth noting because V8 Vega swaps often get messy around steering clearance, headers, oil pans, and front suspension packaging. This one looks good.
