Prewar Beast: 1939 Cadillac Series 61 4-Door

The 1939 Cadillac Series 61 was Cadillac’s entry-level line, but “entry-level Cadillac” in 1939 still meant a proper prestige car with V8 power, big-car presence, and far more style than most ordinary sedans of the era. Power would have come from Cadillac’s flathead V8, which was smooth, torquey, and very much part of Cadillac’s prewar identity. This one reportedly has had both the engine and transmission rebuilt, which is a major plus if documented. Not a bad way to get into a huge hunk of pre-war iron. Find this 1939 Cadillac Series 61 4-Door offered for $11,000 in Morganville, NJ via ebay motors.
