I’d own this next car for the sole reason that I could tell people it is “Tunis Beige paint with a Bamboo Tan interior”. That’s it. I wouldn’t mention the Euro-spec origins, the ThermoKing AC or the Becker Europe AM/FM stereo…not even the 140mph speedometer…as optimistic as that might be with a 2.8 liter inline-6 sqeezing out 160 horsepower to push a box with the aerodynamic tendencies of a parade float from the annual Düsseldorf carnival. Find this 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE W108 bidding for $8900 on eBay with a few hours to go located in Middletown, NY.

This 1969 Mercedes 280SE is a Euro-spec sedan that is powered by a fuel injected 2.8 liter inline six paired with a four speed automatic transmission.  The car is finished in tunis beige with a bamboo tan interior. It has a power sunroof and  a floor mounted shift. This W108 sedan is now offered by the seller with ThermoKing Air conditioner and Becker Europe AM/FM stereo radio. This car is registered in NY with a clean title and is inspected as well. The wheels are from a later model Mercedes with 4 brand new Michelin Defender tires 205-70-14.An Ivory coated steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consists of a 140 mph speedometer, an analog clock, gauges for fuel level, coolant temp and oil pressure.  

All gauges work correctly.  The five digit odometer reads 72,750. Service performed by Xavier’s Mercedes Benz service included fuel  injection pump service and adjustment, ignition system tuneup, new belts and hoses.  Seller reports the AC compressor and condenser work fine.  There is a switching problem with the Thermo-King unit. Switches are included with the car to be installed. The  hood was recently repainted; car has minor paint blemishes and a few small dings in the trim. Car also includes service manuals and a full spare with the late model wheel.
