The Green Bean: 1977 Dodge Aspen

The Aspen was Dodge’s new-for-1976 compact/midsize F-body, replacing the Dart in the showroom and sharing its basic platform with the Plymouth Volaré. It was supposed to be a more modern, comfortable evolution of Chrysler’s old A-body formula. Under the hood is Chrysler’s 225-cubic-inch Slant Six, one of Detroit’s great indestructible engines. It was never fast, but these things have a reputation for surviving neglect, overheating, questionable maintenance and several generations of owners who regarded oil changes as optional. Find this 1977 Dodge Aspen offered for $12,000 CAD in Kaleden, BC, Canada via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Funny, my recollection was the reputation of their fenders dissolving into Large Hole Swiss within 3 years.
Then vanishing from every northeast roadway within 5.
Cannot recall seeing any roadworthy examples after 1985.
Perhaps the pacific NW climate was kinder to these.
An indestructible slant 6 mill still needs some functional chassis to have automotive utility.
Buy this and prove me wrong.
