The Firemaro: 1969 Pontiac Firebird

This next Poncho comes as a tip from Rock On, who writes: Can’t decide on a first-generation Camaro or Firebird? Enter the Firemaro! Indeed, this is a strange idea — take the first gen Firebird, which was based on the Camaro, and turn it into a Camaro. Whut? Find this 1969 Pontiac Firebird offered for $19,950 in Mesa, AZ via craigslist.

Cheaper I suppose than an actual ‘69 Camaro.
Why?
I suspect that in the late 1970s, there was a junkyard full of 1969 Camaro wrecks but not a useable unibody, and a 69 Firebird or at least the firewall and A-pillar thereof, and someone had too much time on their hands.
I had a 1969 Chevy Malibu convertible with a 1968 front clip, a lot of Buick Skylark parts and a truck engine that came about that way.
Funny, it has 69 Camaro quarter panels to match the front clip, but the taillights and trunk lock are Firebird. Seems like a lot of work on the quarter panels to not change the tail. Must be trying to annoy someone or at least start conversations.
