Survivor Style: 1965 Dodge Coronet

In 1965 the Coronet name was revived for use on a Dodge product, this time an intermediate sized sedan that immediately became the highest volume Dodge from a sales perspective. This fifth generation Dodge Coronet was built on a shared intermediate sized platform with the Plymouth Belvedere/Savoy/GTX/Road Runner and Dodge Charger from 1965 through 1970. Today’s example is an original unrestored classic, but is your time worth the cost? Find this 1965 Dodge Coronet offered for $9,700 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Poughkeepsie, NY via eBay.

This would have been a cheap, fun, alright-alright-alright Hoosier-mobile even for a non-mopar person about a year ago but with the economy as steady as an elephant balancing on a circus ball, I find myself looking at more “practical” classics like the previous Honda, an even the subie-swapped bug. For anyone considering purchasing this and driving home, you can’t get much better than the cheap flights into NYC from anywhere and the two-hour trip north on the oh so scenic Hudson River on the metro north train.
