Super Vegan Option: 1984 Ford Mustang SVO
This next car was inspired by DT tipper BP who wrote: Aren’t these on the $ way up now? SVO Mustang and included a link to an 86 SVO that was offered for $13,500 on Hemmings, and these two articles on Hemmings and Hagerty talking about the future collectability and current market of the SVO. Personally I think that $13,500 is looney toons money for that red SVO, so I’ll counter with this 1984 Ford Mustang SVO offered for $5,800 in Orange County, CA via craigslist.
I’m not an expert on the SVO Mustang market, but I owned one a few years ago and have a few parts lingering in my garage (see that little fiberglass piece in front of the rear wheel…that’s called a spat…). Anyway, I don’t think the SVO is going to be the next 60s Cobra, but it’ll be worth something once people forget the terrible turbo lag and the fact that you have to qualify every statement about it. The SVO is fast…for a car with a 2.3 liter engine. The SVO handles well…for something domestic from the 80s. Etc.

I'm shocked every time I see one of these in decent shape under 10k. I'm sure once they start appreciating I'll be kicking myself that I wasn't able to scoop one up sooner.
while 175HP ain't much performance wise, when you look at the production numbers for this unique FORD creation; it's just a niche vehicle, with allot of V8 overlap from those days. That $13k* vehicle was a guy that 'shows' his so while not a 'show' vehicle, the condition of it has got to be pristine.
