Small and Cheap: 1973 Ford Courier

The Ford Courier was a compact pickup offering from Ford that was sold before the introduction of the popular Ranger pickup. The happy compact Ford was actually a Mazda B-series pickup, and it was sold all over the world in decent quantities and most of them look like this next one. Dirty and neglected. But there is nothing wrong with that. Find this 1973 Ford Courier offered for $3,600 in Antioch, CA via craigslist.

I learned to drive stick in the Mazda version of this. First couple of times I made it buck like a wild bronco trying to get it going in 1st and had my dad a bit on edge.
Seems like a good buy, especially when you consider it’s basically a Mazda, and classic Japanese trucks keep getting sillier prices. A comparable Datsun or Toyota would easily list for twice the price.
Nice candidate for a V-8 swap.
