Simple Pleasures: 1979 BMW 320i E21

The E21 generation BMW 3-series is sort of the forgotten big brother of the big cheese E30.  Perhaps it is because the E21 never had a hyper-popular fanboy-drool-inducing M version, or Turbo graphic covered version like the 2002, but the market for an E21 is affordable and they are simple machines…and that is a good thing.  Find this 1979 BMW 320i offered for $4400 in Pasadena, CA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

This is a first generation BMW 3 Series. The E21 sits between the coveted 2002 and the speedy 6 cylinder E30 models- both of which will cost you quite the pretty penny. The 1979 BMW 320i model is hard to come by and will surely be appreciating heavily in the upcoming years.

At only $4400 this car is a great investment.

The car is not in showroom condition, however considering its age I’d say one would be pleasantly surprised. The exterior and paint show no major rust and the interior is quite well-kept. The pics you see were taken on 10/16/18 and are unedited- judge for yourself. **It runs well and can be used immediately as a daily driver with no hesitation.** This 1979 BMW 320i coupe is beautifully styled and sports a 4 cylinder fuel injected engine paired to a 4 speed MANUAL transmission delivered onto a light and well balanced RWD platform. It’s a fun car to drive.

It is stock and thus can be a great restoration project. It can also be implanted with a 5 or 6 speed tranny and the 6 cylinder engine fits it like a glove.

I am only selling this car because my wife and I recently bought our first home and no longer have the space for it. We have 2 other cars and are simply trying to consolidate our finances, space, time, resources, etc. The car is well-maintained and drives well- no issues, no service lights, nada…you are GOOD TO GO!

Please, serious interested parties only. If you have questions ask away but please be considerate of my time. This is LA, this car will find a home sooner than later. I’m doing the local CL thing for now but will be posting on national sites like Autotrader, Ebay, etc. if need be- so don’t lowball me with some ridiculous “offer”.

There are a myriad of reasons to own this car- if you know, well, you know ;)- do not miss out!

Interested? Shoot me an email!

Thank you.
