Shift It Yerself: 2000 Lincoln Navigator
The Lincoln Navigator was released in 1998 as the first full sized SUV from Ford’s Lincoln brand –but there was precedent for such a vehicle. The modern plus sized SUV is a direct descendant of the huge family luxury barges from the 1940s/50s/60s — so this might not look much like a suicide door equipped Continental, but its massive heft, plush ride, and torque says otherwise. Find this 2000 Lincoln Navigator offered for $2000 in Westland, MI via craigslist.
If you think that a Navigator with 200k miles on the clock and who knows how much Michigan rust isn’t much of a prize, you’d be right…BUT this one has a 5-speed manual gearbox shoved where it doesn’t belong. That’s right, the original 5.4 liter V8 is now mated to ZF 5-speed to the ultimate in oddworld driving experience.

I could not drive a gorgeous Lincoln like that without having the seats reupholstered! I read the complete description and would probably love that truck with manual, mine has a 4-speed auto. But he had to change a lot of other stuff like speedo is not working (that would get me in jail fast). Vanman in Toronto
Ford leather seats (and leather steering wheels, too) from this period are notorious for early failure.
Must have been driven by someone with spikes on their butt.
Nice conversion yeah wonder if that is Nascar approved Bear-Bond holding that seat together !
