Rover V8 Swapped: 1977 MG B


I saw this next car and thought; I’ve seen this car before. I think we’ve featured it. But I can’t find the article. Something about the louvered hood rings a bell, and we’ve featured many V8 swapped MGBs over the years. Find this 1977 MGB offered for $19,500 in New Jersey via craigslist. Tip from ME.

Gee someone changed the bumpers to chrome but neglected the grill. Fortunately, there is a fix for that.

I’m impressed with this seller. He includes a nice build sheet which lists what he did and the all important why. Not sure I’ve ever seen that in a craigslist ad before.
p.s. anyone else have problems logging in to dailytourismo on an iPhone using safari? I provide my credentials and click Log In and nothing happens.
Works fine with Safari on all the iOS gadgets, though I use Firefox on the iPads.
I assumed the 215 V8 started with the 1961 Buick Specials was actually first used in the 1951 LeSabre concept car. So a longer production life than the SBC.
I talked to a guy who had a Rover V-8 set up. He told me it was an OEM option in Europe and that the aluminum V-8 weighed less then the iron 4 cylinder.
