River Rover: 1996 Land Rover Discovery

If you ever come to a river crossing in Oregon Trail…never attempt to ford the river. Find a nearby crossing or caulk the wagon…but NEVER try and ford the river. What happens is what happened to this Land Rover…which discovered that rivers are not meant for driving. Find this 1996 Land Rover Discovery offered for $2,500 in Mauldin, SC via craigslist. Tip from Spencercat.

This has been a great hunting vehicle. Driven approximately 3K annually over the past 10 years. Vehicle is a rare manual drive. Needs someone that can by pass immobilizer or maybe reprogram PCM or alarm module?. Front end of LR accidentally went into small pond but vehicle was NOT running at the time – the brake didn’t hold 🙂 (See Picture) I work at an automotive repair facility and after towing to the shop we replaced the oil several times along with all other fluids and had it running again pretty well. After leaving it sit for a few weeks I can not get it to start back up – no signal to coil is what one of our technicians is telling me, and I’m just not willing or have the knowledge to keep chasing the issue down. Would be a great vehicle for someone looking to restore one of these older Land Rovers. The ARB bumper is in great shape. Have recently replaced all calipers, brakes and rotors, and replaced starter, alternator, MAF, Coils, and plugs after it went for a dip in the pond. Please give me a call if you are interested. Price is negotiable.
