オフローダー Ofurōdā: 1966 Nissan Patrol

With FJ40 prices hovering around bluefin tuna levels of ridiculousness, overlooked alternatives start to look even more attractive. Why pay crazy money when you can get all the thrills for a quarter of the bills. Find this 1966 Nissan Patrol for sale in Charleston, SC for $6,400 via craigslist.

The G60 (allegedly no relation to the Corrado) Patrol was sold in the US of A in fairly limited numbers through Datsun dealers. Salesmen must’ve had some sort of routine memorized to explain why everything else was a Datsun while the Patrol bore different nomenclature altogether. With a removable top just like the Blazer, Bronco, and ‘Cruiser, the Patrol offered open cabin safari surveillance.

As you’d expect, the interior accouterments are befitting of a jungle exploration rig. Flat floors and a metal dash complete the ‘hose me out’ motif. Though utilitarian, the gauge placement and steering wheel style is oddly attractive.
