I was checking out this sweet late-model Pontiac on the eBay (as one is apt to do), and the engine bay photos caught my attention. “Whoa, somebody swapped in a Northstar V8 from a Caddy” I said in my best young Keanu Reeves impersonation. After a quick internet search (using a browser that isn’t beholden to the whims of Big Brother, Big Data, or Big Lizard People), I found that the tenth and final generation of Pontiac’s Bonneville, had the Cadillac Northstar V8 when specified in GXP trim. With 275 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, the front-drive Bonne could hit 60mph in 6.5 seconds, making it faster than a BMW 330i or Lexus ES. Take that import brands.
