No Street: 1989 Cadillac Allante

You can stop searching the internet. I’ve found the last thing. It’s done. Over. Finished. This is it. This is the last thing I’d ever expect. It isn’t the most unusual car found or the most wild or the most insane, but it is PEAK Americana. It is the ultimate and final solution of the internal combustion powered horseless carriage. It might have started life as this sophisticated Allanté built by Pininfarina in Italy convertible with a transverse Cadillac DOHC V8 powering the front wheels…but it is now powered by a carb fed Chevy 305 (uggg) mated to a TH350 slushbox that puts power to the gigantic slicks in the back, complete with ladder bars and a Mustang 2 front end. “Looks fast, it isn’t.” –The seller. The Chevy 305 is probably the worst version of the venerable small block ever made and the only way those slicks will make smoke is if you light this entire vehicle on fire. Seller’s Description
This is a Pro Street Cadillac for sale or trade.
It is an amateur build with ladder bars, 9” rear, coil overs, mustang 2 front with manual rack, g-body small block 305 with a cam and a turbo 350.
We call it Jane – as in “looks like Tarzan, but plays like Jane “.
The car sounds wicked – it has a great cam, looks fast – it isn’t… but it is fun – Get your Pro Street on topless !
That said, it runs and drives surprisingly well. It does need some things – left side axle seal leaks. Roof is scuffed up but I have a line on another.
The body is actually nice, has some chips, zero rust. All new wiring kit. Good oil pressure, runs fine.
Interested in 48 or older trades, or mopars, orphan makes, projects, etc. no bikes or boats.
Trades MUST come to me in southern maryland 20620 – I work way too much to be running around.
Looking for street rod trades, no lowballers, don’t like it, tighten up the tin foil hat and move along. Still available will not get you a response.
