I think it’s a T-bucket for people who can’t quite get over Henry Ford’s politics, or just want the bare minimum body in compliance with local laws that it must look like something pre 1949.
I’d go with an American Bantam body myself.
Certainly looks like fun in the sense of being one muscle twitch away from becoming a John Chamberlain sculpture.
Don’t sneeze!
The steering wheel has the exact opposite of airbags.
‘How did you get that checkerplate pattern on your forehead?’
‘Had to brake really hard for the squirrels, on the way back from the parade – I thought one had stolen my nuts…’
Well at least the steering column won’t go through your chest the way most 40s and 50s cars did.
I’m really curious what’s going on with the suspension and steering here.
I gather that there is a drag link that goes back to the steering box just in front of the firewall. Transverse leaf spring and way-long hairpin radius rods but the geometry puts the roll center- I’m not sure. No anti roll bar at the front and great big tires on a beam axle. Not a clue what’s going on with the rear suspension, but this looks like the “off road†mentioned is a drag strip.
Sort of like someone ordered up a gasser and the builder asked their supplier for a Willies body and there was a miscommunication and the wrong Willies body came in the mail.
Or maybe there is a rulebook somewhere that specs a “ Willies body†leaving a loophole you could drive this thing through?
That would not account for that steering wheel though.
