Long Wheelbase W126: 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL

The W126 generation Mercedes-Benz was the flagship of the flagships -and its long wheel base version was a favorite of African dictators and American country music stars. If you had cash (or were Johnny Cash) the long wheel base version of the W126 was the perfect car for you to drink directly from the bottle while your chauffeur drives you to scout open fields to use for shows or shows of force. Find this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL offered for $9,700 in South Burlington, VT via craigslist. Tip from Thomas.

This classic Mercedes is in very nice condition and has been meticulously maintained. It has the 5.6 litre gas V-8 engine and purrs effortlessly on the highway. This was the Flagship sedan and was advertised as “the million mile car”. It has every option, including the 16 inch chrome wheels, instead of the standard 15 inch wheels, electric reclining rear seats, front and rear heated seats, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, memory seats, sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control with heat/AC. I replaced the original radio with a Sony radio/ CD system which is powered by the original Bose 11 speaker sound system. The new tires have been driven less than 300 miles. I also just had the antifreeze flushed and changed out in July, as well as a tie rod replaced. The car passed inspection in December and the Mercedes Dealer also did their multipoint inspection and saw no problems. I have replaced two of the three mufflers in the last 1.5 years. Also I have replaced the vacuum door locking system, new door striker plates, new trunk release, AC has been cleaned, tested and recharged, sun roof has been fixed. Minor oil leaks have new valve gaskets, front and rear. The drivetrain is in excellent condition with no leaks or malfunction. I have service records for all major repairs. I don’t have every single receipt for air and oil filters, oil changes, batteries etc.
I am the second owner of “Lady Jane Grey”. The first owner owned the Mercedes dealership and I know he maintained her very well too. She was garage kept most of her life in Tallahassee FL, so only driven in snow a few times and has no rust. My reason for selling her is that I have recently retired, do very little driving and no longer need two cars. So if you are looking for an eye-catcher luxury classic that has been pampered, this may be the one for you. My asking price is on the low end, since it it priced thousands less than comparable Mercedes on sites such as Auto Trader, Cars.com, craigslist, etc. There are very few 560’s for sale, and most of the models are the 420’s or 320’s which were much less expensive.
Please, serious inquiries only. This car cannot be financed because of the age and I don’t do financing. If you are interested in seeing the car please send a message and I will text, e-mail, or call you back, depending on your preference. Thank you and have a blessed day!
