Kubota Counterweight: 1973 Volkswagen Beetle Diesel

When you see a Beetle with a giant engine cover sticking out the back, you have to assume it is covering some made V8 or a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine taken from a hot hatch…but you wouldn’t expect a power downgrade. NO. Nobody would expect an industrial diesel from a piece of farm equipment with 39 horsepower to hang out the back of a Beetle. But, the question on everybody’s mind is; Does it wheelie? Probably lifts the front end with the engine off when low on fuel. Find this 1973 Volkswagen Beetle Diesel offered for $4,350 in Saucier, MS via tractorface bookbook.

Slower, louder, and ugly. I’d understand this build if it had a snowplow attachment on the front, but it doesn’t and it’s hundreds of miles away from snow.
You forgot stinkier.
I’d be embarrassed to be seen in this monstrosity.
