At least it has seat belts. It is a wonder any of us who grew up in the 70’s or early 80’s survived the daily bus ride to school. Looking back, not sure why many kids thought it was ok to taunt the very drivers charged with transporting us to school? Who can forget the rousing “If you can’t find em, grind em” chant or other inane stuff directed at those drivers?
Or shooting spitwads at the back of the driver’s head.
If I was waiting with my child at the bus stop and this pulled, up, I’d tell him to get back in the house!
I’m of an age when geeky kids saved their allowance for plastic models styrene cement and tiny bottles of paint, dreaming of speed , power and all the other fantasies that flowered in the volatile solvent enriched room air. long hours spent at bedroom worktables. the s’cool bus was a box i contemplated getting many times. never did. IIRC, this one had a pretty big ad campaign that reached 12 y.o. me.
