JDM Import: 1992 Toyota Century

Toyota started using the Century name way back in 1967 on a V8 powered luxury liner that was based on the Crown Eight. The same basic design continued in production through 1997..yes…a staggering 30 year production run. Imagine if you could buy the same Tesla Model S that you see in the showroom today in 2042…actually, that is looking like a good probability. But nobody wants a used electric car, so save your money and buy this 1992 Toyota Century offered for $13,500 in Gaithersburg, MD via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

Offered for sale is this unique imported JDM Toyota Century in excellent condition — correct VIN is VG45002584! There are not many like it in the US so you will DEFINITELY stand out from the crowd. In perfect running condition and recently passed MD state inspection (see picture). If you know MD you know that most classic cars fail inspection. All EIGHT power windows work. All FOUR cigarette lighters work. Radio, cassette, and CD player all work. Both air conditioners (front and rear) work, rear heated/massage seats work, etc. The power rear curtain works. These are special cars, VERY rare in the US, and they have a lot of features. You won’t find one of these in better condition!

Of special note on this car are the mirrors. 99% of Toyota Century models have fender mirrors. This is one of only two I have ever seen with mirrors located at the A-pillar. It may have been a rare option in Japan and/or it may have been used as a diplomatic car (common for these vehicles) in a jurisdiction that didn’t allow fender mirrors. Even among Centurys, this one is unique!

Like many Centurys, this vehicle has LOW miles (barely driven 3000 miles/year) and appears to have been maintained meticulously. In Japan, these are a big deal and are typically well cared for by professionals! For questions, additional pictures, etc., please do not hesitate to contact me!
