BMW Swapped: 1990 Volvo 240 Sedan

This next car comes as a tip from Cory who writes; One of the odder volvo 240 swap cars I have seen- BMW engine and Volvo s60 dash. In my opinion, the car is close to being actually good, but some very odd details (steering wheels is horrid) keep it in the mongrel category. Never seen or heard of anyone swapping in a poorly fitted dash into one of these. Find this 1990 Volvo 240 Sedan with BMW inline-6 swap offered for $1250 in Suffield, CT via facebash markingbaste.

Seller’s description
ASKING PRICE IS $5,500.00BMW M50B25 swapped Volvo 240. I built and drifted this car over the last 4 or 5 years and am looking to move on. This vehicle has been very reliable and fun to drive on the street and at events. Last time at the track I did tag a guiderail and there is some body damage and rail moved, nothing affecting alignment or mounts, I still drive the car with no changes.

I’ll bet the front air dam and side skirts really kick in when this baby gets over 135 mph.
But why no rear spoiler? Things that make you go “Hmmm….”

Hows does that go, worth the square root of its parts?
Sure looks like a drift car or even a drift missile to me. Clues are the weird white steering wheel, shift knob, generally unfinished interior, added hydraulic handbrake, and this line: “last time at the track I did tag a guiderail and there is some body damage and rail moved,” which is definitely something that happens to drift cars.
That being said, the BMW M50 swap is quite common in Sweden and Norway for a 240. It’s cheap, it fits, sounds great, and nearly doubles stock power. Plus the Getrag transmissions that bolt onto these are quite a bit better for agressive driving than the Volvo tractor-spec boxes.
S60 dash – never seen that one, and now can’t unsee it.
