Ich bin ein Cologner: 1971 Mercury Capri
I hate it when this happens. I’ve been sniffing around at a particular make/model of car for years and I’m not 100% clear in my garage to buy one, but one of DT’s regular tippers sends in a fantastic example of said car for a bargain price. This time it is Fueltruck, and if he keeps doing it, I’m gonna block his e-mail!! Find this 1971 Mercury Capri offered for $2,000 in Tumwater, WA. Tip from FuelTruck.
The ad details or light, the seller says it “needs a full restoration” but it doesn’t look look bad all things considered. Drop a late model Coyote V8 under the hood and go fast.

Ecoboost 4 cyl from a Mustang would be a nice swap option, too
Nice find! That would make a fun project.
Just to be pedantic like a German (and as a resident of Köln), you should have said, "Ich bin ein Kölner."
Duston,
My understanding of German is about on par with my understanding of the synchromesh gearboxes…which isn't good at all, so I jammed what I wanted to say into Google translate and the barf you see on the page was the result. At least I didn't say I was a jelly donut…amiright?
Thanks,
Vince
Dustin: Whoops. Sorry about calling you Duston. I could go back and ninja edit the comment…but, I'd rather just apologize here and get it over with.

WHY are these ALWAYS on the wrong coast…
Here is another one in SoCal: inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/mercury-ford-capri-pinto/6222595785.html
The Mustang GT wheels look pretty good on this thing.
Yeah, I was surprised at how good they look. Needs a little lower profile tire, but otherwise a nice easy change. Wonder how easy an ecoboost 4 banger is going to be to find for something like this? Looks like it took a punch to the front judging from the buckle in the right front fender and the hood. Wonder how bent up it really is?
Should be pretty easy to find an Ecoboost 2.3L, if you've got some coins saved up in the piggy bank…
