Hello Yellow: 1990 Volkswagen Corrado

This next car comes as a tip from MNMunky who writes: Corrado in not so mellow yellow. Long time since I’ve seen 3 spoke alloys and not minded them. Criminally underrated car IMO. Find this 1990 Volkswagen Corrado offered for $5900 on the faceface faceface.

Seller’s Description
Has BBM chip, Nuespeed 68mm pulley, adjustable FPR, nuespeed intake, bbm silencer delete, unknown brand coilovers, 16″ Borbet wheels. Supercharger makes some fun sounds and it gets pretty good fuel mileage if you can keep your foot out of it.

Almost everything still works, interior is in great shape. Nice running and driving 31 year old volkswagen
Will need wheel bearings and has an exhaust rattle. was repainted at some point and has some dings and dents. Driver auto belt doesn’t work and the AC in in unknown condition.
Bring your own wheels for $700 off. Not really interested in trades as I’m trying to reduce the project cars around here. Can ship or deliver up to a reasonable distance at buyer expense.

Probably the most period-correct vehicle choice for those 3-spoke Borbets. I like the overall “used, not abused” vibe coming off this Corrado. These really aren’t easy to find, so the price seems fair. I’m a little concerned about what’s going on in the wheel wells though. Every fender lip looks like it’s just starting to break out in a mild case of cancer. I’m guessing the undercarriage is rusty.
Interesting toy, just confused about the location which came up in “Rapid City, SD” and the add showed Stouffville, Ont. ?How big is that 4 cyl engine? I probably have some wheels that would fit?
Looked at the ad, didn’t see any reference to Stouffville, Ontario. Interesting as my Mother lives in that town!
It now comes up as St. Catharines Facebook on the left for me? It must pick up my address address somehow? Sorry I have never used that “sales” address.
I was expecting a VR6 as I figured there aren’t that many surviving G60s out there.
Well, looks like this is one of them.
