Funhauler: 1966 Volvo 122S Wagon
The Volvo 122S is a pretty rare bird to see on the road these days, but they were built pretty tough and many survived accidents, rust, or an overzealous hot rodder. This next one might be headed down that last path…but the fastest stars always burn the brightest, right?!! Find this 1966 Volvo 122S Wagon offered for $6,500 in Davenport, IA via craigslist. Tip from Zach.

Super cool project. A 66 Volvo with a built turbo’d 4 cylinder. Making around 350 horse at 18lbs of boost. Need I say more. If you have any idea what the possibilities are, you’ll be looking for a sleeper like this. With a bigger turbo and stronger trans you’re in the 700+ range. Only trade I’m interested in is a 67 or 68 Shortbed Chevy.

Funny, I must be getting old: I would be more interested in this with the original engine and a manual gearbox. Now get off my lawn….
I've got two of the originals… but the 740? console is amusing.
The Miata(?) seats… hmm.
Another example of why I'd be broke in quick order if I had any real money to spend.
Tru dat, homes.
If it didn’t cost $1000 to transport to me, well…
Fly to MLI and drive home for <$500?
It's ultimately a red block system – so long as isn't completely buggered…
One of my favorite all time builds

The 'auto trans' comment throws me with the photo of three pedals? Unless that third pedal is pretty healthy parking brake actuator? That said I don't claim to know anything about these cars, other than it is a wagon, so thumbs up for me.
I'm pretty sure I could guess the possibilities if one were to try for 700+ hp.
