Flathead V8 RWD WTF? 2003 Mini Cooper

This next car starts with the body of a new Mini Cooper…which was a front-wheel-drive thing assembled by BMW…but today’s Mini is not longer mini. It sits on an extended wheelbase and features power from an flathead Ford V8. The result is a strange looking combination of classic hot-rod proportions and style of a late model compact Mini. It boggles the mind. Find this 2003 Mini Cooper Hot Rod offered for $12,000 in Leesburg, FL via faceback dynamite. Tip from Matt C.

Reassuring to know that it’s paid off. Points to the builder for creativity. Not sure why they didn’t can-opener the top to go all the way, though.
Hot Wheels in 1:1 scale.
Looks like it’s easier to work on now.
Sort of a stretch, but it seems like a good compromise for the couple where one wants to drive the hot rod flatty to Thanksgiving with the inlaws, and the spouse prefers some weather protection.
Wonder what it’s titled as. If it’s a rebodied ford of flathead vintage it would be easy to deal with the DMV. Titled as a 2003 mini not so much.

some states would not allow the bare tires/wheels without fenders. How harsh is the suspension?
