Early Thorsday: 1968 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon

Do you want a car that will put a smile on your face and the face of every other driver on the road around you?  Don’t get a new Mazda (although those do have some grin inducing faces nowadays) but instead you should drive an old Volvo, because even if you get cut off with a moronic 4 lane change you can’t be mad at a vintage Amazon.  Find this 1968 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon offered here on eBay bidding for $5,600 reserve-not-met or buy-it-now of $7,950 located in Albuquerque, NM.  Tip from Zach Z.

The Volvo Amazon (called the 120 series outside of Sweden) was the more
practical, more upright but still sexy older sibling of the P1800 sporty
car, to which it donated its engine, transmission, and suspension
options. Today the values of the 1800 series coupes and
1800ES shooting brakes have started to tick up, leaving the Amazon
behind slightly.  However, these cars have a reputation for being reliable and basically good — so don’t expect them to be cheap forever.
