Corvette Powered: 1986 Porsche 928S
The Porsche 928 has been affectionately called the Poorcha Camero over the years…well, at least here on DT…so it only makes sense that someone would swap a GM 350 cubic inch V8 into the front and make it properly American. Today’s example looks decent in black, but how is it that we don’t have a SINGLE photo of the engine bay. Find this 1986 Porsche 928S offered for $10,000 in Los Angeles, CA via craigslist. Vice grips in the back seat does not inspire my confidence levels.
Wondering if the car comes with whatever animal destroyed the rear parcel shelf as well. Never has 1 picture presented such a different story to the others.
I’m looking at the cardboard under the rear of the car and I’m asking myself about what might leak back there…
…tranny fluid from the pan gasket?
…failed O ring on the fuel tank?
…rear brake lines? (that’s always fun)
….transmission cooler fluid, perhaps? (since we have no pix of the mechanicals)
…grease from a ripped CV boot?
Or how about gear oil from the rear diff?
Wait. Maybe whatever exploded in the back hatch area is just leaking/bleeding onto the street? Or the back hatch itself is leaking, and it’s messy?
So many possibilities…
