Clean As Baby Teeth: 1984 BMW M6 E24

This next car comes as a tip from Dave in Tampa who writes: M-Porn: Cheaper than an E30 M and far better looking too. This seems remarkably inexpensive for a minty 6 series. I wonder if the Nakamichi cassette deck is the famed Dragon unit? Find this 1984 BMW M635i M6 E24 offered for $22,917 in Tampa, FL via crashface carcarbook.

From the seller:
Unique 1985 BMW M635 offered for sale Just out of storage. This is a excellent example of the legendary BMW M6. This is the motorsports developed euro spec version with 286 hp (same engine that powered legendary M1 race car) and lighter weight body. It is originally a car delivered to France and imported by the sole Alpina distributor at time Hardy and Beck. This is significant as many of the south Florida importers had lower quality importation work done. The vehicle spent most of its life in California and Arizona so it is essentially rust free. It currently has 226xxx km or 140xxx miles on odometer and has had essentially every wear component replaced and a recent engine overhaul. It does run and drive great but does need some minor finishing work. All receipts over 30 years, manuals, 4 keys, and importation documents included. This vehicle has a clean body with recent high quality paint. All lights and lenses have been replaced with new ones. It includes the original oem motorsports body kit and even the original Alpina style Hardy and Beck 3 piece rims are included. Interior is the very rare bulls blood red which is an excellent contrast with the original white exterior. Interior is in good original condition with a crack free dashboard. Audio system was originally a high end nakamichi cassette deck with dual amplifiers and matching crossover. It was replaced with a modern blaupunkt head unit with 4 channels driving new blau speakers. One nakamichi amp was retained to drive 2 additional new 6×9 blau speakers. Original replaced nakamichi system in box will be included with sale. I have retained all records for last 30 years in a binder. As follows is a list of item replaced in renovation over last seven years. The vehicle has rarely been driven during this period so all components should be like new. New windshield and gasket, new rear window and trunk gasket. New right door gasket and door handle gaskets. New brake light gaskets. More Upper and lower Lemforder control arms using polyurethane bushings and alloy 750 arms. New tie rod ends. Anti sway bar bushings and links New bilstein sport shocks and struts with bearings and all hardware New power steering pump and water pump. All new belts and fluids Later spec double row timing chain with new components and tensioner. Head check and refresh with new head gasket. Head looks brand new under valve cover. See pics! New sachs M6 clutch and new fluid in trans and differential BMW style 5 17″ rims with newer sumitomo tires. Also original H&B 3 piece 16″ rims. Possibly original metric 415mm BBS rims. New front brake pads and rotors. New Dot 4 brake fluid New fuel pump and filter. New fuel lines. This is a incomplete list of work done during my ownership. I have a large binder with significant other work done reflecting tens of thousands of dollars.
