Brown + Manual: 1984 Volvo 244 Sedan

For better or worse, the manual transmission is going away. It will probably be gone before California bans the internal combustion engine, but I’m gonna miss it. However, it will make you happy to know that you will be able to buy a used car with a manual gearbox for many years…well, until they ban those too. It would be a shame to NOT be able to drive this next car and I hope it has a life as long as many of the 100 year old Ford Model Ts you see driving around. Find this 1984 Volvo 244 Sedan offered for $1900 in San Diego, CA via craigslist.

Fun beater for the price. That looks like a lot of rust down low though.
Anyone know about that set of wheels? I can’t tell if they’re Volvo wheels without caps/wheel covers or if they’re from somewhere else. I like them. Cleaned up they’d look good.
Volvo 240 14″ GT accessory wheels made by ATS. Here is a set for sale in Poland.

Thanks Hugh! I’m going to keep my eye out for those a little closer to home. Maybe I won’t need to import them from Poland. I’d almost buy this brick just for the wheels. Swap them out for steelies and sell the car. Probably get most of the cash back.
