The original Mini was produced for an insanely long period of time — 41 years to be precise — with only minor changes from 1959 through 2000. The long in the tooth Mini was probably the best 1950s designed car you could buy in 1980 (aside from that Alfa convertible thing) but does that mean it was a good car? It doesn’t really matter because today you buy it for the 1960s looks and enjoy 1980s (albeit British) reliability. Find this 1980 Mini Cooper offered for $5,500 in Litchfield, CO via craigslist. This little car is the original Mini Cooper in all its Glory, fits larger drivers believe it or not it’s a blast to drive with a right hand steering. You will enjoy this car and also it won’t take up a ton of space in your garage LOL
It has a Four engine that starts right up, 4 speed manual , disc brake front and drum brake rear, emergency brake holds Good. 59000 original miles . Nice blue paint base coat clear coat with a white roof … body is very nice a couple of Bubbles at the bottom of the driver’s door, right hand drive all Glass and Trim very nice, tires are brand new, interior older but clean, runs and drives but does need brake work, most likely a master cylinder (no pedal), was driven daily four years ago before storage, u.s. title and paperwork, very nice simple project but does need some work due to how long it’s been sitting in storage… clutch works good, lights work good. Underneath over all good has had some work done on the Rockers…. see pictures
These cars are selling for much more than this, fix it up, enjoy it and have some value. These 1st generation mini cars are gaining rapidly in value. I don’t have the room for the car anymore so it’s on the market.
