The Elise was introduced in 1996 as the ultimate in minimalist mid-engined motoring bliss from Colin Chapman’s Lotus Cars, but the Series 1 Elise was never imported to the United States. We had to wait until 2005 when the series 2 Elise was federalized for sales in the US with a Toyota 4-cylinder engine, which only lasted until 2011. Prices for the Elise were reasonable until a few years ago when they started to jump up on those auction sites and the gains have continued to be impressive. But today we’ve got one that is either a really good deal or a scammer or sold already. Find this 2005 Lotus Elise offered for $25,000 in Eagle Pass, TX via craigslist. Tip from Art C.
